Holy Fuck We're LEAVING! TONIGHT!... and all I've packed so far is a carton of Um Bongo, a yo-yo and the soundtrack to Goodfellas. On top of that, the Italians are striking, so there will be no airport control and probably no pilot or fuel.

Still, at least all of us have been vaccinated against bad AIDS- the exception being Checkers, who was tragically infected at birth.

If anyone from the other trip stumbles past this text, we shall be meeting you on the 4th at the Ravnice youth hostel, and if you could, we'd appreciate it if you could reserve us a plot on the campsites you're going to for two 2-people tents. Pass this message along to someone from the other group if you read it please.

Anyways, I'm going away tomorrow, and what with Olly in Canada too, that means the official Weinerfest Organisations have been passed down to *christ* Iggy and Golle. Anyways, here's what you two should try and do in the next few weeks:

1: Get Youth Hostel Organisation passes-you can order these from the website (just search Youth Hostel Organisation). They're £10 and you get discounts everywhere

2: Book the Ravnice Hostel-there don't seem to be many hostels in Croatia, and the only other one allegedly has turds in its showers, so you better book the nice, clean one ASAP!

3: Try and find a tent-Well these are like £40 to buy for a two man one, but see if you can borrow one or something.

4: Sort out cash abroad-I went to the bank yesterday and they said that traveller's cheques are the best solution for getting cash out; though they can give you them there and then, so this isn't majorly urgent.

I can't think of anything of anything else right now. I figure the camp sites can be booked nearer the time (i.e. when Olly gets back to organise it), but maybe it's worth having a look at some possible ones to stay, perhaps in Slovenia, Split, Hungary and Prague, or some cheap youth hostels.

Iggy's Holiday Tips - #1 Passports

If you're travelling abroad, here's something may not be aware of: to enter a country, it is required of you to carry a passport. These are things that have funny pictures of you in, and they're very important. The chances are, if you live in a country (like London), you will already have a passport. If you don't, this means you are an immigrant, and will have to starting speak another language, blowing shit up, taking all the seats on the 191 and stealing jobs. If you do, however, you still need to make sure the passport has not expired, like so much bad milk.

Unfortunately for me, I just found out my passport is as expired as the Princess of Wales, and therefore it needs to be renewed. To do this you need a bunch of signatures, a completed application form, and a small bribe payable to Tony Blair. I'm not sure where you hand all this shit in, probably to Miss.Odd or something, I don't know, but it takes like two weeks to get the new passport, which is a bitch considering it's only around three weeks until we leave. How much shit must I wade through?

The most important and funny part of applying for a new passport is having your picture taken. You can go for three different basic poses:

1) Joyous Twat

2) Drivelling Idiot

3) Pouting Premadonna

As you can see I've broken the rules a little bit and gone for my own brand of 'espionage' expression, which makes me look like a shifty, world weary Sri Lankan spy.

I can't wait to go to Amsterdam. I heard its awesome there, I guess its because of the Anne Frank Museum. I gotta check that out. And as I like art I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my time at the Van Gogh museum, he was an artist that went mental and chopped his nob off.

I became so viciously intoxicated last night I may well have gained some sort of superpower as a result. I will notify you, oh faithful bloggers, if such an evolution takes place.

My first piece of news after the rather lengthy hiatus is something that has been speculated for months on the internet rumour-mill, which I now have the pleasure of confirming... Golle will indeed be joining us on Wienerfest's voyage this summer.

I do however, have some slightly less predictable news to report, which I only became aware of last night at the Leavers' Ball, and which excited me so very much I just had to let you all know... Wienerfest will be pleasured with the brief appearance of our very own Jose Loach, who plans to join our group during our stay in Hungary for a week or so. It remains to be seen who will break the sad news to him that the term 'wiener' is not in fact a reference to pork produce, and I don't want the job, but it does seem that Jose will be 'taking' Europe in a manner unheard of since Godzilla's invasion of Japan during the late forties.

We've now officially booked the bare essential tickets for our trip: the outgoing flight to Milan in late June, our return flight from Prague to Stansted on August 17th, and Iggy Pop And The Stooges at the Hammersmith Apollo on the August the 30th.

The Trips This Summer

Here's a brief round-up of the various trips going down this summer...

Wienerfest: The Road The Hungary
Taking off on the 18th of July, and landing back in Blighty on the 16th August, this trip, comprising of Olly, Iggy and Checkers and Checkers's Sister, looks set to change everything we presently know about life, the universe and everything. We will have our own T-shirts too.

Bird's Drugs Trip
This little troupe is comprised of Alex, Bird, Fae, Lily, Poj, Sophie and Toby, and will henceforth be referred to cleverly as The Trip. Their blog describes their trip as adventure, excitement and cheap beer. Adventure? Excitement? A wiener craves not these things. We may converge with The Trip after the 16th, when we return to Europe for Amsterdam.

The Croatia Trip
This highly selective grouping includes Penny, Sabina, Ri, Hannah, Anna, Gruff, Gunes and many others. Because Olly is in love with Hannah, he's desperate to change the wiener-route so that we converge with the Croatia Trip or even join it, and because me and Checkers are such good friends with Olly, we're going to let him do whatever it takes to win her heart.

The Muswell Hillbilly Trip
Latymer's very own Kevin and Perry; Bush and Hugo, Go Large (or not so large in Hugo's case), as they take their friends on a wacky adventure through eastern Europe's house scene. Accccid.

This summer, two young men and a young boy will venture through the nether regions of Europe towards Hungary, hopefully stopping in Brest. Those three explorers are Iggy, Olly and Checkers, and together they form Wienerfest. Welcome to our award winning travel blog, on which our famed Wiener-route TM will give you the latest on our journey, from planning to completion and eventual poverty. We will also keep you up to date with Olly's crazy attempts to romance fellow eurotripper Hannah in Will They, Won't They, and to eventually post hilarious photos of Checkers asleep on trains with drawings on his face, or getting into some man's car.
